Our Story
In the wake of the George Floyd murder, many organizations began to review Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives to further equity within their organizations and the community. Collectively, we find organizations are facing similar barriers and are attempting to solve community problems siloed within individual organizations. This individual, organization by organization, approach has not yielded substantive community change for a more equitable and inclusive community.
The founding organizations believe that if we want to create substantiate change in our individual organizations, we need to take a larger community approach to DEI work and provide opportunities to learn from each other, engage in education and training, share resources, identify problems and barriers, and build genuine connections between people.
